Notes from the Nurse

  • Friendly Reminders

    • Mobile Dentist will be here at Hilltop on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. This program is brought to the schools to help our families who otherwise do not have access to dental care, or who prefer the convenience. The Mobile dentist visit also fulfills the State requirement for dental exams for Kindergarten and Second Grade (must be updated by May 2018) students. If you haven't already signed up and wish to do so, please have your student ask their teacher for a permission form.
    • Head lice are a fact of life for school age children. While extremely inconvenient , they pose no health hazard. The time of year is approaching where hats and coats are worn more.  Please check your student’s head once a week and remind him/her not to share his/her personal items.
    • Cough drops are allowed here at school with a parent note giving permission along with the cough drops. They will be kept in the health office.
    • Extra clothes are encouraged to be kept in your student’s backpack. Accidents happen.

    Tip for the Month

Who needs a flu shot???? EVERYONE DOES! Even healthy people can get "the flu". Influenza, also known as the flu, is a contagious upper respiratory illness that affects the nose, throat and lungs. The CDC and AAP recommend an annual flu vaccine for all children 6 months and older, which includes parents as well.

Our day is made exceptional when we see all of our students here ready to learn and share their thoughts!  Please contact the Health Office if I can be of any assistance.

    Your School Nurse,

    Mrs. Kathy Carlson
