Hello, Vikings!  Welcome to the 8 Silver team!!! 

I am excited about starting my 20th year teaching at Parkland.  This is my 20th year teaching Mathematics and my 3rd year teaching Language Arts.

I live right here in McHenry with my three kids.  Evan is in 8th grade at Parkland and loves soccer.  Reese is in 6th grade at Parkland, is in MJW cheer, and loves animals.  Camden is in 4th grade at Valley View and loves soccer and being active outdoors.  All four of us love to travel!  This summer we went to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio.  Some of my other favorite things are coaching soccer, disc golfing, going boating on the Fox River, reading mystery/thriller books, shopping, and watching reality television.

Here at Parkland, I love to stay involved!  I enjoy attending club performances, sports games/meets, and staying after school with students who need some academic support.  I coach the Parkland Soccer Club, and I am one of the Homework Help supervisors.  If you see me after school, be sure to say hello!

Hi 8 Silver!

My name is Mr. Thomas and I am the 8 Silver Science and Social Studies teacher. This is my eighth year teaching at Parkland and my second year on the 8 Silver Team. I graduated from NIU and am currently enrolled there working towards my graduate degree in instructional technology. I am an advisor for the 8th-grade dance committee, the program leader for the 8th-grade Washington D.C. trip, and I will be coaching the 7th-grade volleyball team this year.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy hanging out with my wife and three kids, playing and watching sports, and playing video games. My son Noah is 12 and plays travel baseball. Maya is 10 and loves gymnastics and art classes. Lily is 7 and is our wild child with a love for gardening and cooking.
